Substance Painter

Substance Painter has proven an essential tool for various projects to realistically texture 3D models. The software is also ideal for texturing stylized assets. Due to the large number of online tutorials, I was able to teach myself Substance Painter during my studies.

>> VR Subway Sim Assets <<

My main task in the VR Subway Simulator project was the texturing of models. Therefore, I textured many assets in the project with Substance Painter. For example, I textured the outside, seats and doors of the train. Many other small props such as an information display box, fire extinguisher or a vending machine were also textured by me. For the floor and wall textures I used Substance Designer. Various parameters were exposed, which in turn allowed me to adapt the generated material to my needs for texturing in Substance Painter.

>> Medieval Pouch <<

I modelled this medieval belt pouch based on a reference image just for fun. Modelling, unwrapping and retopology was done in Blender. Texturing was done in Substance Painter. The Software was also used to transfer details from the high poly to the low poly mesh.

>> Stylized Platforms <<

Stylized, game ready assets for a small multiplayer platformer game were modelled in Blender. Base mesh & lowpoly models were done in Blender, sculpting in ZBrush Core. Texturing and baking was done in Substance Painter.
